Where Should I Spend My Digital Ad Budget

Where should I spend my digital ads budget?

If your business isn’t already using digital marketing, it should be. Especially right now, while more people are spending time at home and online. But if you’re new to the digital ad scene, figuring out where to focus your efforts can be daunting. With so many online platforms to choose from, where do you start? Here are a few popular advertising platforms to consider.

Our CEO, Eric Parent talking about advertising platforms

Google

Google is a good place to start with online advertising. It’s a good idea to have some presence on Google because that is where many people go to find goods and services. There are a variety of ad formats to choose from, including search, display, shopping, and Google’s ad networks.

Advertising with Google is faster than depending on SEO alone, allowing you to target keywords. You can also retarget people who have already been to your site. Beyond that, Google Ads makes it easy for anyone to advertise there, giving total control over budget and scheduling, detailed analytics, and suggestions through Pro Planner.

Overall, Google is a good place to start for any business, but it can be especially helpful for businesses that already have a website and use eCommerce.

Facebook

Being on Facebook is a must for modern businesses. Having a Facebook page allows you to communicate with your customers via posts, share pictures and videos, host Live Streams, and speak with your customers directly via messenger.

As an ad platform, it can be very beneficial. Beyond Facebook, your ads will also be displayed on Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp. Your ads can be a boosted post from your page, videos, or standard images. You can also get pretty specific with your targeting, choosings from different ages, genders, locations, and even interests.

Facebook is a great way to boost brand awareness, website traffic, and connect with customers.

Twitter

Twitter is pretty similar to Facebook in how it allows you to connect with customers. You can share announcements, videos and photos, and message with customers. You can also retweet posts from other users.

When advertising on twitter, you do have fewer options when it comes to creativity. Twitter encourages engaging video and photos as well as creative copy, but there are no carousel ads and ads are only displayed in the Twitter feed. However, you can do a lot with their targeting. Much like Facebook, you can target by age and gender. You can also target hashtags and users who follow your competitors.

Twitter gives you less reach but is great for organic content.

Pinterest

Pinterest is my favorite platform to advertise on. Pinterest users are already looking for products and services so the ads become a welcome part of the platform. Because of this, Pinterest is great for conversions and traffic.

Every ad is a boosted pin, but that doesn’t limit what you can do creatively. You can use images, videos, and slideshows as your creative. You can also target age, gender, interests, and keywords.

In general, Pinterest is a great platform for beauty brands, health and wellness brands, and home care services. It’s a great way to get people looking at your products who are already interested in buying.

TikTok

TikTok is the newest of these advertising platforms. If you don’t know, TikTok is a video sharing platform with 8 million downloads. Because it is newer, it is much less saturated with advertisers than the others so you have less competition.

There are a variety of ways to advertise on the app, including in-feed videos, hashtags, and brand takeovers. TikTok is a platform where you can get creative and really have fun with your ads, getting in on trends other users on the app are doing.

While there is a massive audience and a lot of potential for memorable ads, TikTok is more expensive with an average CPC of $10. If you’ve got the budget, it could be great to add to your marketing strategy.

There are many platforms to advertise on and to get a comprehensive marketing strategy, you may want to try more than one. It’s important to consider your target audience and your business’s needs. If you’re still unsure about where to advertise or how you can set up a consultation with Next Level.
